Join the Kenosha History Center for a special evening reception featuring complimentary hors d'oeuvres and 1 flight of three 2 ounce mini martinis at Kenosha's newest museum (martinis will be served across the street at Breakwater Restaurant. Choose from six different types of martinis! Additional flights of mini martinis and beer, wine, soda and/or water will be available for purchase. Live music by Paul Emersun. The Lighthouse Keeper's residence will also be open featuring exhibits on the history of shipping, fishing, water recreation and the Lighthouse Keepers. The Southport Lighthouse will also be open for tours to the top.

Join the Kenosha History Center for the season opening of Southport Light Station Museum. The final three rooms on the second floor will debut for the 2013 season! Both floors of the Lighthouse Keeper's residence showcase the nine years of restoration and renovation to prepare for the new Lighthouse and Maritime Museum featuring exhibits on shipping, fishing, recreational boating, the restoration process and the Lighthouse Keepers. The Southport Lighthouse will be open for tours to the top.

The historic Southport lighthouse and the new Southport Light Station Museum will be open weekends beginning on May 11, 2013. The tower (admission fee) will be open weekends through Sunday October 27, weather dependent. Call (262)654-5770 to verify if the tower is open. The adjacent Southport Light Station Museum will also be open these same hours (free admission).

The Kenosha History Center presents the second annual beer tasting event. Sample up to 50 different beers from 16 microbreweries including Kenosha's very own Rustic Road Brew Pub. The Muntzenberger Brewfest celebrates over 165 years of brewing beer in Kenosha. A special commemorative tasting glass is included. Also featured will be live music and food available for purchase.

Join the Kenosha History Center at the Southport Light Station to help us celebrate National Lighthouse Day. We invite everyone to bring a picnic lunch, lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the grounds of the light station. There will also be 15-20 picnic tables on the grounds. After your picnic lunch, enjoy an ice cream sundae and/or root beer float, available for purchase from our concession stand. Enjoy musical entertainment throughout the day and don't miss the Celebrity pie eating contest to be held at 12:00 noon. Don't miss this special celebration!

Spend a beautiful fall day walking through Green Ridge Cemetery and learn about historic Kenoshans. The tour features reenactors describing individuals featured on the tour, 1-4 p.m. More information on this year's event will be disclosed at a later date. Tours leave every 15 minutes on a first come, first serve basis at the Green Ridge Cemetery entrance. Parking is available on 7th Avenue and 66th Street.

Join the History Center for a nightime lantern tour of historic Greenridge Cemetery. Advance reservations are required. Visit the grave sites of some of Kenosha's most prominent citizens and discuss gravestone symbolism. Bring a flashlight or lantern and meet at the Green Ridge Cemetery 7th Avenue entrance between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m.

Don't miss the 9th Annual Chili cook-off between the 2012 winning entry, the Kenosha Fire Department, the Somer's Fire Department, Pleasant Prairie Fire Department and some of Kenosha's best restaurants. Featuring great chili, microbrews, wine, soda and live music , 6-10 p.m.
